Giant Reasons to Feel Lucky!!

Bookmark and Share
Hey there everyone!!

It’s easy to feel better when we contrast our circumstances with the rest of the world.  But intellectually understanding that there is starvation and poverty in most of the world may not be enough.

Contrary to mainstream belief, focusing on all the ills of the world people are experience can be empowering -- especially to see the vast categories of ills that there are.

1. Torture

Believe it or not, it is still happening in the world today.  Forms of torture result in massive excruciating physical and psychological pain, unconscionable to most people.

2. Oppressive Governments

In many countries, citizens are not free to speak, assemble, or relocate.  Violence and death surround many neighborhoods, while others deplete in their food and resources.

3. Bureaucratic Institutions

It can be years that some people are caught in court, be it divorce, lawsuits, or custody battles.  People in other industries feel constrained by the policies and corruption.

4. Dysfunctional Relationships

Do you know someone in an abusive relationship?  Imagine all the unhappy marriages or adultery that we don’t even find out about?

5. Health Concerns

There are tons of people in the hospital who don’t even know how they got there.  There are so many types of cancers, and a growing population of those with autism.

6. Emotional Turmoil

Whether the drama is artificial or not, it feels real.  Teenagers go through a ton, and women go through it every month.

7. Spiritual Emptiness

Imagine people who brought up with traditional religion, only to be disheartened by the fallacies that they later discover?  Those questioning their existence may become suicidal.

8. Social Apathy

We can have thousands of friends on Facebook, and yet still feel lonely and separated.  Even in big nightclubs with physical contact, there is no soulful connection.

9. Void of Purpose

Many feel like zombies in a matrix, not knowing where they are going in life.  It feels like boredom even when trying to contribute to others.

10. Lack of Food, Shelter & Access

This may be the most obvious, but it can also be the vastest.  Consider how you probably don’t need to worry about your next meal, or how you can walk into a library and learn about anything you want for free.

So, are you being tortured?
Do you live in an oppressive state?
Are you caught-up in red tape?
Are you trapped in a relationship?
Do you have ongoing physical ailments?
Are you going through a huge emotional phase in your life?
Do you lack faith in yourself and others?
Are you unable to have intimate conversations with your friends?
Do you lack meaning and substance in your life?
Have you lost and can't renew your library card (or can't regularly practice your Google skills)?

If you are free of any of these issues, count yourself lucky.  Life is usually about dealing with these kinds of concerns.  If you are free of all of these issues, then welcome to your paradise.

Let’s love the world together...

Love,
